What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Non-Surgical Approach

Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as Facial Acupuncture, is a non-surgical approach to combatting signs of aging while promoting overall health. Rooted in the ancient Mei Rong philosophy, it harnesses traditional Chinese medicine principles.

By addressing internal imbalances in organs, meridians, qi, blood, and fluids, we target wrinkles, puffiness, and muscle tone changes. Our Cosmetic Acupuncturists diagnose and treat these root causes, providing holistic treatments that not only rejuvenate the face but also contribute to a more youthful, well-balanced body and mind.

How Does Cosmetic Acupuncture Work?

Cosmetic Acupuncture enhances facial blood flow, infusing the skin and muscles with nourishment and rejuvenating energy, promoting youthful skin. Factors like environmental toxins, UV exposure, aging, and poor diet can reduce collagen and elastin production, impacting skin tone. Facial acupuncture, however, triggers the production of these essential proteins, enhancing skin's durability and resilience. The treatment also re-educates muscles to their original placement, providing a sculpted and youthful lift that supports the natural structure of the face.

Common Surface Symptoms Related to Underlying Root problems

Cosmetic Acupuncture emerges as a multifaceted solution, adept at tackling various concerns such as loss of elasticity, acne around the mouth, and creasing above the upper lip, while also delving into the intricate relationship between these aesthetic issues and underlying digestive concerns. By strategically targeting acupuncture points, the treatment not only rejuvenates the skin's elasticity and alleviates acne but also contributes to addressing the root causes of digestive issues. This holistic approach underscores the transformative potential of Cosmetic Acupuncture, intertwining aesthetic revitalization with internal harmony for comprehensive well-being.

  • A full course of treatment typically consists of two sessions per week for 5 to 7 weeks, totaling 10-14 treatments. Maintenance sessions may follow, occurring monthly over the initial 2 to 3 months and seasonally thereafter.

  • While noticeable results often appear after a few sessions, a full course ensures deeper and more lasting effects. Maintenance sessions combat the ongoing effects of aging, addressing concerns like gravity and sun damage.

  • This treatment is suitable for those seeking a safe and holistic approach to health and beauty. Ideal candidates desire improvements in skin brightness, clarity, and firmness, and may be looking to prevent early aging signs.

  • The best results are observed in individuals between 21 and 55 years old. However, the treatment can benefit anyone experiencing fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Cosmetic Acupuncture cannot be administered to individuals with conditions such as hemophilia, uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent severe migraines, or those who are pregnant. Additionally, if Botox or fillers were received within the last 6 months, the treatment is not advised.

  • The initial visit involves a thorough discussion of your health history, evaluation of your desired changes, and a 1-hour treatment. It typically lasts approximately 90 minutes.

  • Tiny acupuncture needles, finer than a strand of hair, are inserted into specific areas on the face and body. Sensations may include numbness, heaviness, sinking, or tingling. The needles are left in place for 30-40 minutes.

  • After the treatment, you may experience sensations such as euphoria, mild disorientation, emotional discharge, deep relaxation, or fatigue. It is advised to eat 2-3 hours before the session, have a makeup-free face, wear comfortable clothing, and refrain from rigorous exercise before and after treatment.

  • It's advisable to bring your preferred moisturizer and sunscreen for application after the treatment. Additionally, applying Arnica during the weeks of treatment can help prevent bruising.

  • Refraining from alcohol consumption, reducing blood thinners, and considering the timing of evening sessions to avoid potential sleep disturbances are advised during the course of treatment.
